This Privacy Policy explains how FEEL LIKE TECHNOLOGY LIMITED (“we,” “us,” or
“our”) handles information when you use the ByteCleaner mobile application
(“ByteCleaner” or the “App”) and visit this legal page.
Local processing only — no server upload
Your photos, videos, and all ByteCleaner task data—including scan tasks, similarity
and blur analysis results, cleanup selections, and compression tasks—are processed
only on your phone. ByteCleaner does not upload or transmit any of this data to
servers operated by FEEL LIKE TECHNOLOGY LIMITED.
Only information that you deliberately send to support and data independently
handled by Apple services may leave your device, as described separately below.
1 Scope and controller
This Policy applies to ByteCleaner and this legal page. FEEL LIKE TECHNOLOGY LIMITED
is the controller responsible for information that it receives directly from you.
This Policy does not govern Apple’s own processing through iOS, iCloud, the Photos
app, or the App Store.
2 Information we handle
Photo and video library content
With your permission, ByteCleaner can access the photos, screenshots, Live Photos,
videos, and associated library metadata that you make available through iOS. This
may include local asset identifiers, media type, creation date, duration, dimensions,
file size, favorite or edited status, and other attributes needed to organize and
process your library.
On-device analysis and app records
The App may generate similarity features, content fingerprints, blur or quality
scores, category results, recommended keep or cleanup selections, compression status,
and local cleanup history. These results and performance caches are stored on your
device and are not transmitted to us by the current version of the App.
Support communications
If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email
address, message, issue category, and any attachments or diagnostic details you
voluntarily provide. Please do not send photos or videos unless they are necessary
for your support request and you are comfortable sharing them.
Purchases and subscriptions
If paid features are offered and you make a purchase, Apple processes your payment
and Apple Account information. We do not receive your full payment-card details. The
App may receive limited transaction and entitlement information from Apple, such as
product, purchase status, renewal status, and expiration date, to provide and restore
paid features.
Diagnostics and legal-page access
ByteCleaner may create operating logs on your device for reliability and
troubleshooting. We do not receive those logs unless you choose to share them.
When you visit this legal page, our hosting or content-delivery provider may
automatically process standard request data, such as IP address, browser type,
requested URL, and time, to deliver and secure the page. This page does not itself
set cookies or run analytics or advertising scripts.
Information we do not currently collect
The current App does not require an account and does not transmit your media library
to us. It does not use your photo or video content for advertising, sell personal
information, or use third-party tracking or advertising SDKs. It does not request
contacts, precise location, microphone, or camera access for its current features.
3 How we use information
We use information only as needed to:
scan, categorize, preview, compare, delete, and compress media you select;
estimate storage savings and maintain local scan, preference, and cleanup records;
provide, restore, and administer paid features when offered;
respond to support requests and troubleshoot problems;
protect the App, this page, our users, and our legal rights; and
comply with applicable law.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our agreement
with you, your consent (including iOS permission choices), our legitimate interests
in operating and securing the App, and compliance with legal obligations. You may
withdraw consent through iOS Settings or by contacting us, without affecting
processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
4 On-device processing and permissions
All photo and video content and all scan, analysis, cleanup, and compression task
data are processed locally on your phone and are not uploaded to our servers.
ByteCleaner uses Apple’s Photos framework to access only the library items permitted
by your iOS photo-library setting. You may grant full access, limited access, or no
access, and may change that choice at any time in iOS Settings. Without sufficient
access, related scan, preview, cleanup, and compression features cannot operate.
Analysis is performed on your device. If an item is stored in iCloud rather than
locally, iOS may download it from Apple when you ask ByteCleaner to preview or process
it. That transfer is between your device and Apple’s service and is governed by your
Apple relationship; it is not an upload to us.
Deletion requests use the iOS Photos deletion flow. Deleted items normally move to
the Recently Deleted album and remain recoverable for the period controlled by Apple
and your settings. ByteCleaner cannot bypass that system process. Compression may
create a smaller replacement in your library and then request deletion of the
original after the replacement has been created. Review selections and keep a
separate backup of important media before confirming.
5 Sharing and service providers
We may disclose limited information only in the following circumstances:
Apple: iOS, Photos, iCloud, and App Store services operate under
Apple’s terms and privacy policy. Apple processes purchases and may provide limited
transaction status to the App.
Operational providers: email, website hosting, content delivery,
and security providers may process support messages or technical request data only
to provide those services to us.
Legal and safety: we may disclose information if reasonably
necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights, safety, and
security.
Business changes: information may be transferred in a merger,
financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale, subject to this Policy and
applicable law.
We do not sell or rent personal information. Service providers that process personal
information for us are required to protect it and use it only for the agreed service.
6 Retention and deletion
On-device data: analysis caches, selections, preferences, and
cleanup records remain on your device until removed by an in-app or system action,
cleared by iOS, or deleted when you uninstall the App.
Your media: your Photos library is controlled through iOS.
Removing ByteCleaner does not delete your photo library. Use the Photos app and
Recently Deleted album to manage media deletion and recovery.
Support records: we normally retain support correspondence for up
to 24 months after a request is closed, then delete or de-identify it, unless a
longer period is needed for security, disputes, or legal compliance.
Website security logs: standard hosting logs are normally retained
for up to 30 days, unless a longer period is reasonably needed to investigate abuse
or meet legal obligations.
Purchase records: Apple retains its transaction records under its
own policies. We retain any entitlement status accessible to us only for as long as
needed to provide purchases, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and comply with law.
7 Your choices and rights
You can:
change photo-library access in iOS Settings;
review selections and cancel before confirming a cleanup action;
manage or clear local records where the App provides that control;
uninstall the App to remove its locally stored app data;
manage subscriptions through your Apple Account; and
ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict, or provide a copy of personal information that we hold about you.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to object, withdraw consent,
lodge a complaint with a privacy authority, or appeal a decision. To exercise a
request, email dev@byteslike.com. We may need
to verify your identity. Because most App data stays only on your device and the App
does not require an account, we may have no way to identify or retrieve that local
data.
8 Security and international transfers
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed
to protect information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so
we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your device, Apple Account, and backups
protected.
Our providers may process support or website information in countries other than
yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers and
honor applicable data-protection rights.
9 Children
ByteCleaner is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13
(or the minimum age required in their jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect
personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal
information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10 Changes and contact
We may update this Policy when the App, our practices, or legal requirements change.
We will post the revised version with a new effective date and provide additional
notice where required.
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and FEEL LIKE TECHNOLOGY
LIMITED (“we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of ByteCleaner and related support
services.
ByteCleaner provides suggestions, not guarantees. You remain in control of every
cleanup or compression action and should review selections and back up important
media before confirming.
1 Acceptance and eligibility
By downloading, accessing, or using ByteCleaner, you agree to these Terms and our
Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App. You must be at least 13 years
old, or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction, and legally able to enter this
agreement. If you use the App for an organization, you represent that you may bind
that organization.
Some features may be available without payment, while other features, usage limits,
or enhanced results may require a purchase or subscription. The App will identify
paid access before you confirm a transaction.
2 License and Apple terms
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive,
non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use ByteCleaner on
Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by App Store usage rules.
The App is licensed, not sold.
Apple’s
Licensed Application End User License Agreement
also applies unless we provide a valid custom EULA. If these Terms conflict with
Apple’s mandatory terms, Apple’s terms control to the extent of that conflict. Apple
is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for ByteCleaner except as
required by applicable law.
3 How ByteCleaner works
All photo and video content and all scan, analysis, cleanup, and compression task
data are processed locally on your phone and are not uploaded to our servers.
ByteCleaner can scan and categorize permitted items in your Photos library, identify
possible duplicate, similar, blurry, screenshot, Live Photo, short, screen-recording,
or large-media candidates, recommend items to keep, estimate storage savings, delete
selected items, and compress selected photos or videos. Available features may vary
by App version, device, region, permissions, and purchase status.
Similarity, quality, category, size, and savings results are estimates produced by
automated analysis. Results can be incomplete or incorrect. A recommendation never
means an item is objectively unnecessary or safe to delete. You must review every
selection before confirming.
iCloud-only media may need to download through Apple before it can be previewed or
processed. Network conditions, device storage, supported formats, iOS behavior, and
Apple services can affect availability and results.
Permissions and system behavior
ByteCleaner needs the level of Photos access required for the feature you choose.
Limited Photos access limits the scan and cleanup scope to items selected in iOS.
You can change permission at any time in Settings, but doing so may prevent a task
from starting or completing.
Availability, maintenance, and updates
We work to keep ByteCleaner available and reliable, but we do not guarantee
uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may add, modify, suspend, or remove
features to improve safety, compatibility, performance, or legal compliance. A newer
App version or iOS version may be required to continue using some features. We will
provide notice when required by applicable law.
4 Your responsibilities
Keep reliable backups of important media before cleanup or compression.
Review selected items, expected output, and available device storage.
Grant access only to media you are authorized to manage.
Protect your device, Apple Account, passcode, and backups.
Use the App in compliance with applicable laws and third-party rights.
Deletion uses the iOS Photos process. Items normally move to Recently Deleted, where
Apple controls the recovery period and permanent deletion. Recoverability is not
guaranteed. Compression may change quality, resolution, format, metadata, file size,
compatibility, or playback characteristics. After a replacement is successfully
created, the App may request deletion of the original as disclosed before you
confirm. Some metadata may not be preserved because of format or system limitations.
5 Paid features, subscriptions, and refunds
ByteCleaner may offer one-time purchases, promotional offers, free trials, or
auto-renewable subscriptions. The purchase screen controls the product, price,
currency, billing period, trial or offer eligibility, and included features for your
transaction. Read it before confirming.
Apple bills purchases to your Apple Account and manages payment processing.
Auto-renewable subscriptions continue and are charged according to the terms shown
by Apple unless you cancel before renewal through your Apple Account subscription
settings.
Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription. Cancellation normally takes effect
after the current paid period; refunds are governed by Apple and applicable law.
Trial and promotional eligibility is determined by Apple. Unused trial time may be
forfeited when a paid subscription begins where Apple’s displayed terms so provide.
You may use the App’s restore-purchases control or Apple’s account tools for
eligible purchases.
We may change future prices or features as permitted by Apple and applicable law.
Required notice or consent will be provided through Apple or the App. Mandatory
consumer refund rights are not limited by these Terms.
Billing questions and refunds
Apple controls App Store billing, cancellation, refund eligibility, and the timing of
any approved refund. You can manage a subscription through your Apple Account and
submit an eligible refund request at
reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple’s
current cancellation guidance is available through
Apple Support.
If an Apple receipt shows a completed ByteCleaner purchase but the corresponding
feature is not available after you use Restore Purchases, contact us at
dev@byteslike.com. Do not send full card
numbers, account passwords, or other payment credentials.
6 Acceptable use
You may not:
use ByteCleaner unlawfully or to violate privacy, intellectual-property, or other rights;
circumvent access, purchase, security, or usage controls;
reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, copy, modify, distribute, sublicense, rent,
sell, or create derivative works from the App, except where applicable law expressly
permits it;
introduce malicious code or interfere with the App or related services; or
misrepresent affiliation with us or use the App to provide a competing hosted service.
7 Intellectual property and feedback
ByteCleaner, its software, design, text, graphics, trademarks, and other content are
owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms do not transfer
ownership to you. You retain ownership of your photos, videos, and other content.
If you voluntarily send suggestions or feedback, you grant us a worldwide,
perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use it without restriction or
compensation, provided we do not publicly identify you without permission.
8 Third-party services
ByteCleaner depends on Apple technologies and may link to third-party services or
websites. Their availability, content, security, and practices are controlled by
those third parties and governed by their terms. We are not responsible for
third-party services, although these Terms do not exclude responsibility that cannot
legally be excluded.
9 Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ByteCleaner is provided “as is” and “as
available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a
particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free
operation. We do not warrant that analysis will identify every relevant item, that
recommendations are correct, that compression will achieve a particular saving or
quality, or that deleted or changed media can be recovered.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we and our directors, employees, affiliates,
and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential,
exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, media, profits, goodwill, or
business, arising from the App. Our total liability for all claims relating to the App
will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the App during the 12 months
before the claim or US$50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits. In
those places, these provisions apply only to the extent allowed. Nothing in these
Terms excludes liability for fraud, willful misconduct, death or personal injury
caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer right that cannot legally be
excluded or limited.
10 Termination, support, privacy, governing law, and contact
Support and error correction
If displayed media information, purchase status, or a processing result appears
incorrect, stop the affected action and contact us with a description of the issue,
App version, iOS version, and device model. Do not send private media unless it is
necessary and you deliberately choose to do so. We cannot remotely inspect or change
media and task data that remains only on your phone.
Termination and changes
You may stop using and uninstall ByteCleaner at any time; uninstalling does not cancel
an active subscription. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach
these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or if we discontinue the App. Provisions
that by their nature should survive will survive termination.
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the App, law, or business practices.
We will post the revised Terms with a new effective date and provide additional notice
where required. Continued use after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance
where permitted by law.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how information
is handled. In particular, ByteCleaner processes photo, video, scan, analysis, cleanup,
and compression task data locally on your phone and does not upload that task data to
our servers.
Governing law and general terms
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region,
without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Hong Kong have non-exclusive
jurisdiction. If mandatory consumer law in your place of residence gives you other
rights or forums, those rights remain available. Before starting a formal dispute,
please contact us and allow 30 days to try to resolve it informally.
If any provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary
and the remaining provisions will continue. A failure to enforce a provision is not a
waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part
of a reorganization or business transfer. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, Apple’s
applicable terms, and the purchase terms shown to you form the entire agreement for
the App.
